Heartfelt greetings dear readers,
First off, we wish to thank all who have come through for us this month! It is with humble thanksgiving that we can say we are able to honour all our commitments with a smile on our faces and joy in our hearts, instead of frowning and fretting about how we could turn a penny around one more time! May God bless all those who have reached out a helping hand abundantly and keep you, may His Face shine upon you and be gracious unto you. May the Lord God lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace!
Events had only really picked up here towards the end of the month with Heritage Day. We had quite a few visitors at both the Childrenโs home and with the elderly.
On the 24th, an individual group visited the children with cookies, games and a talk on heritage.
We also had our local DA counsellor and his staff pop in with eats and talks on our heritage.
We had a braai for the elderly on Heritage weekend which they thoroughly enjoyed, we even had them dancing ๐ The little lady with the short black hair and pink top, Chantelle, helps a great deal with our elderly and has proved to be absolutely invaluable!
Of course, our staff dressed to the 9โs for Heritage Day ๐
If you would remember, I told you last month that some of our children won some awesome prizes at Mall of The South and one of the prizes was a night at The Gold Reef City Hotel with unlimited rides, bed and breakfast. The housemother, Ethel accompanied 2 of our boys and a friend and they revelled in the luxury of it all ๐
Our head boy has a host who fetches him sometimes for supper, a weekend or even a holiday and he was treated to supper recently.
Skylar had his Acrobranch day and I still have to get feedback from him on how he enjoyed that!
Our older boys will be dancing the night away (not literally) at their Matric Dance this week and we are anticipating some great pics!
David, our gospel hip-hop artist and poet (who won 1st prize for poetry a while back) has entered the Regional Eisteddfod with his poetry and we applaud him for his talent!
26th of September is the last day that we are able to offer tickets for the raffle we are running in conjunction with Auto City Cares, although the draw will only be held on the 28th of October by them. We also had a stand at The Mall of the South.
Wandile (the young man who manned the stand) stated that he had found his niche and loved manning the stand ๐ We wish to extend HUGE thanks to all who have supported us in this venture, and as soon as the winner is revealed to us by Auto City, I shall post it especially!! ๐
One of our elderly people, Rolf, is asking for a microwave oven. If anyone has one they would like to sell at a reasonable price (as he only has his pension to live on) or would like to donate, it would be greatly appreciated!
Well, thatโs our news for this month and we stand in faith for an exceptional month henceforth โ not only for us but for each of you too!!
Have a blessed October!
