July newsletter

Hello all you precious People 😊

Our Mandela Day was phenomenal!! I would like to extend our profound and heartfelt thanks to all those who had partnered with us on this special day and the opening of our new home for the elderly in Rosettenville!! The turnout was HUGE, so much so that – even though we catered for 100 visitors – we did not have enough seating space for everyone!!

We were blessed with laptops and computers, toiletry gift packs for our residents and caregivers, groceries, beanies, scarves and gloves, huge muffins and a cheque that blew our minds!! I’m sharing some pics with you:

Our CEO, Neil, words were that this is the first step of bigger things as we look to grow and expand our organization, by God’s grace!

Shame, our children received very few visits. It may be that the main focus was on the opening of the new home for the elderly???

However, they were treated at the Holiday Bible Club, which they loved and were so blessed to attend a ballet on stage, meeting the dancers afterward:

Before I carry on, let me do the birthdays quickly – at David House we have our wanna-be scientist Gracie on the 22nd August, our soccer star Skylar on the 7th August. At Camelia House, our grande-dames Joanne and Nadine share a birthday on the 26th August and our precious Aunty Angie on the 12th August.

Our by Giffie got his learner’s licence this week and we are SO proud of him!! I am asking if anyone could possibly help us with the cost of a Driving School for this child, whom we are SO proud of please??

Regarding the “Help-A-Child” plea in last month’s Newsletter, we have sponsors for 3 children so far which we are extremely grateful for. Please help our children with their toiletries and extra activities.

School started and our kids are raring to go again 😊

Our residents were also blessed to receive blankets from a kind donor:

More sad news is that our Accounts Lady, Desiree and her husband has retired to the coast. Desiree would still be doing our bookkeeping, albeit remotely. We love her dearly and miss her so much already. We did have a little braai for her send-off and it was such fun:

Well, that’s a shorter and sweeter Newsletter this month 😊 and I hope you enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it!

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend and month!! God has promised that He would never leave us, nor forsake us!! So keep your eyes above the storms that may come and know that He is a God who hears and sees us!!

Warm greetings from us all at Resthaven Ministries!
