Newsletter - August 2025
Hello again 😊
This year is absolutely flying past and I hope all the precious ladies had – and are still having – a wonderful Women’s Month!!
Our August has not been very eventful, but we would like to take this opportunity to express our profound gratitude to our partners who reaches out helping hands – whether it be annual, quarterly or monthly and regardless of it being finance, cleaning materials, clothing or any other essentials – your assistance provides breathing space and your consistency is deeply valued. Your partnership in caring for our children and elderly truly means more than words could ever express!!
We would also like to thank our caregivers and housemothers with heartfelt gratitude – they are our quiet heroes who give their days, nights and hearts to their work.
Our matric son, Jabu, is busy with prelims and is working very hard. The primary school children are also set up with extra lessons in whatever they are having a hard time with.
We have been so fortunate to receive sponsorship for pocket money for all our children, except for Jabu!! And being in matric, he definitely needs a sponsor!!
Our other son, Kingston, has been hospitalized with lung infection and, quite frankly, we have no idea how and where he could have picked up this ailment.
We have also had 4 volunteers at the children’s home doing their practicals, and they were a joy and a great help!
The children in our home are truly our children and our two boys who had gone to Mpumalanga for an internship in tourism still keep in touch with us. JonJon has now become a manager and David just turned 21. Our social worker Ingrid, all the children and some of the staff went through to celebrate his birthday and JonJon’s promotion
Our son Giffie is having driving lessons, thanks to our precious donors for assisting with this and he’s absolutely so chuffed!! Giffie also gave a speech at an interschool competition organized by Wits and he received 85%
Okay, let’s do the birthdays for September now :😊
Prince will be turning 15 on the 16th and he is A-grade student of note!! We have two staff children who will be on the 26th and the 5th. At Camelia House, our gentleman George Potter will be 84 on the 30th. Isobell, our caregiver at David House will be 38 on the 24th and our precious Fundraiser, Sharon will be 65 on the 19th – she looks 10 years younger!!
A bit of shocking news is that our canine pet at the children’s home was thrown with a brick on the head by a passerby and had to be hospitalized. Praise our Heavenly Father their little doggie, Max, is back at home and ready to be loved and petted by the children again.
We have a new resident at Camelia House, Carol, and she is so happy to be there, getting along with everyone. A real down-to-earth lady 😊
Well my Dears, that’s our news for the month of August. We wish you a joyous and successful Spring month of September and remember, we need to keep our eyes on our Saviour instead of any storms that may come our way!!
Lots of love,
Resthaven Fundraisers
