There are many needs in the community today. The poor need housing, the hungry need food, the aged need caring and AIDS infected and affected babies, children and adults need medical care and they all need love.
Being a ministry, Resthaven has a special calling to provide for the widows and orphans.
Resthaven has been operating since 1979 with the sole purpose of looking after and making a difference in the lives of the needy and poverty-stricken.
Resthaven was set up to provide facilities, safe houses and clinics as well as food, clothing, shelter and care to those in need whether they are children, adults or the aged.
Resthaven also looks to assist in social uplifting their various communities by facilitating employment via networks that have been set up and assisting in whatever other way they can with the meagre resources that they have.
Resthaven Ministries (Resthaven) was registered as a Non-Profit Organisation (NPO) on 7 June 2001 and as a Public Benefit Organisation in terms of Section 18A of the Income Tax Act, 1962 on 24 July 2006, thereby ensuring that donors are able to claim their donations against their taxable income.
Resthaven has, however, been operating since 1973 when a soup kitchen was set up to cater for the less fortunate in the Southern suburbs of Johannesburg.
Resthaven’s objective is to “Find a need and meet it, and to find a hurt and heal it” and we are very active in the community with a number of projects directly influencing many lives in the community.
Your involvement allows Resthaven to create a future for those in need in our community. Please join us in bringing change to their lives today.
