About Us

Resthaven was started in 1979 from the boot of a car serving soup to the needy in Johannesburg South.

After a time, an old boarding house in Diagonal Street, La Rochelle was purchased and established as an old age home. Later on, our other homes were opened, at David House, Camelia House and The New Life Centre.

Over the years we have evolved, but have always been involved with providing a home, food and training to those in need, and all the while providing much needed hope.

Today we are a fully functional NPO caring for the needs of families in our community as well as well over 50 residents from tiny tots to those in their golden years.

To serve our community through alleviating the hardship and suffering experienced by others.
We shall provide opportunity for the upliftment of others through the provision of food, shelter and training.
